Our partner Southern Cross Support Services (SCSS) is a highly sought-after organisation, committed to client goals and providing personal growth opportunities for our team members. SCSS is a NDIS and Child Safety provider servicing Queensland. This position can be based in Rockhampton, Gladstone, Bundaberg, Hervey Bay or Gympie.

Your responsibilities:
  • Develop individualised strategies for people with disability to reduce the occurrence and impact of behaviours of concern and minimises the use of restrictive practices
  • Undertake functional behavioural assessments to develop behaviour support plans containing evidence-based, proactive strategies that meet the specific needs of the client
  • Focus on person-centred interventions
  • Planning and Delivering behaviour support approaches that comply with the Disability Services Act 2006, NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework and OH&S legislation
  • Ensuring team members are appropriately trained to implement positive behaviour strategies or use restrictive practices
  • Provide best-practice advice to team members relation to behaviour support
  • Help team members, NDIS clients, their families, and other decision-makers to understand the NDIS Commission’s behaviour support function
Qualifications & licences:
  • Qualification in a relevant Allied Health Profession (e.g. Social Work, Speech and Language Therapy, Psychology, Occupational Therapy).
  • Eligible to be registered as an NDIS Practitioner (e.g. AHPRA, Australian Association of Social Workers).
  • Experience in a Disability setting
  • Driver’s Licence
  • Eligibility to hold Working with Children Blue Card
  • Eligibility to hold NDIS Worker Screening Check
