 The Red Cross Bundaberg Branch would like to invite you to the ‘Big Cake Bake’ at the Vietnam Veterans Drop-in Centre from 9.00am to 3.00pm.


Volunteers will be baking cakes, slices, biscuits etc to sell at the Big Cake Bake to raise money for Australian Red Cross.


The Big Cake Bake is all about doing something kind, generous and delicious while helping others.


No matter how you enjoy your cake (or biscuits, slice, quiche, pies) the money raised will help people overcome crisis in Australia and beyond.

The Lighthouse Festival is a family-friendly event that aims to celebrate many of the great things about our region, provide lots of fun for all ages, and be a great day out for the whole family.


The Lighthouse Hotel Stage will feature several local acts and the visiting feature act this year is popular country-rock outfit 'Brewn'. Once again, the Youth Stage provides an opportunity to showcase the talents of our region's up and coming performers.


The ever-growing Gladstone Ports Corp Art & Photography Exhibition promises to excel yet again with works on display from many talented artists.


In the Kid's Zone, little ones can enjoy a variety of art and craft activities. Plus, there will be plenty of stalls to explore, lots of yummy food to enjoy, show rides, and helicopter rides. The evening will finish with a fireworks spectacular at 7pm.

Life Sciences Queensland Ltd (LSQ) is visiting key Queensland regions with a delegation of industry leading experts from overseas and across Australia for a series of coordinated events as part of Innovation Week 2018.


Innovation Week aims to showcase the role of Innovation derived from life sciences R&D and facilitate international understanding of the opportunities available in Queensland. These events will provide the international delegates with the opportunity to share their experiences and expertise with local stakeholders and form new relationships.


LSQ Chairman, Prof Peter Andrews AO and the LSQ Deputy CEO will also be providing an update on the Life Sciences Catalyst program soon to be introduced to Regional Queensland.

Kepnock State High School has a long history of supporting and promoting the Arts. Arts Night 2018 is our annual showcase of outstanding student talent from all five arts areas – dance, drama, visual arts, music and film and television.


In recent years, we have created a more casual, family-friendly atmosphere, where members of the community can come eat amazing food from our Hospitality and Agriculture departments, listen to talented buskers and wander through our art gallery.


This year’s event is going to be bigger & better than ever – we’ve had a record-breaking number of auditions this year and we have uncovered some amazing talent!


Outdoor entertainment, food & drink will be available from 5pm with the show starting at 6pm. Tickets are being sold from the front office as well as on the night, and start at $6.

MOFF or Moncrieff Occasional Film Festival is an initiative to present a program of specialty films. Each event will consist of two feature length movies responding to the same theme. The time we are screening a spook-tacular Halloween mini festival based on a horror theme with WOLF CREEK and ANNABELLE: CREATION.


WOLF CREEK It was supposed to be the vacation of a lifetime in the Australian Outback - full of fun, sun and adventure. But what happened to a trio of twentysomething backpackers took a wrenching detour into the depths of unrelenting terror Befriended by a local who turns out to be a sadistic psychopath and will plunge them into a hellish nightmare of insufferable torture. A white-knuckle nightmare so real it was destined to become horror legend. Starring: John Jarrat, Nathan Phillips, Cassandra Magrath, Kestie Morassi. Horror (R18+) High level realistic violence, strong course language. Runtime 95 minutes.


ANNABELLE: CREATION 12 years after the tragic death of their little girl, former toy maker Sam Mullins and his wife, Esther, are happy to welcome a nun and six orphaned girls from a shuttered orphanage into their California farmhouse. Years earlier, the couple's 7-year-old daughter Annabelle died in a tragic car accident. Terror soon strikes when one child sneaks into a forbidden room and finds a seemingly innocent doll that appears to have a life of its own they soon become the target of the dollmaker's possessed creation, Annabelle. Starring: Anthony LaPaglia, Samara Lee and Miranda Otto. Horror / Mystery / Thriller (MA15+) Strong horror themes and violence. Runtime 105 minutes.


MOFF events are all priced at $16 for the two movies and they are strictly 18+ events. The first movie will begin at 6.30pm and there will be a 20 minute intermission between films. Light refreshments will be available for purchase and the bar will be open.

Gilles Chuyen will be conducting meditation workshops. He has been practising yoga and meditation for more than 20 years and has been associated closely with the Art of Living Foundation.His main training has been under Gurudev of the Karmic Research Centre, New Delhi, under whose guidance he started conducting regular group meditations and healing sessions through movement.
