Mary Poppins in the Park

Maryborough’s riverside parks and heritage streetscapes come to life just like scenes from Mary Poppins with a host of costumed characters and delightfully themed activities and entertainment. Nanny races, chimney sweep challenges, chalk drawings, street theatre, and circus shows are all part of a packed program that included the grand parade.

Pop up performances and live music from local artists will delight the crowd.

There will be children’s workshops filled with hands-on, creative sessions involving storytelling, puppets, circus acts, kites, yoga and umbrellas add to the fun of this famous annual celebration.  Mary Poppins in the Park will be held on 7 July 2018!

Mary Poppins Festival

This year’s Festival presents a two week program of storytelling for all ages through all art forms. From music concerts backstage and onstage at the Brolga to pop up performances in the Bond Store Basement. Their artists share their stories through exhibitions and public art installations. Walk the streets and search the rooftops for some very special new surprises as part of the Maryborough Story Trails experience. The signature event is the Mary Poppins Festival Day in the Park where Maryborough's glorious heritage streetscapes are transformed into scenes from the Poppins novels.
Nannies race each other pushing prams in the great Nanny Challenge; chimney sweeps compete in the Chimney Sweep Dash while Mary Poppins characters come to life from the pages of books and mingle with the crowd.
The entertainment includes professional street theatre performers, sidewalk artists, jugglers, roving Penny Farthing, grand costume parade, kite display, vintage cars, carnival rides and old fashioned games and workshops.

Maryborough Mural Trail Official Opening

Wed, 4 July - 10:00 AM

Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour will open the trail of 30 murals and installations throughout Maryborough's Central Business District at a public morning tea, cake cutting and cannon firing starting at 10am on the Town Hall Green, attended by Mural Project Committee, members volunteers. sponsors and supporters .


A new mural trail map and brochure will be launched at the opening.
