This exciting opportunity is available with Southern Cross Support Services (SCSS), based at Head Office in Bundaberg.

SCSS is a NDIS and Child Safety provider servicing Queensland with our head office based in Bundaberg. Our core business is to provide a range of disability and Child Protection services to meet the needs of those that are most vulnerable in our community.

What is SCSS looking for?
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working within the Community Services sector (i.e. Support Worker, care industry etc)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of the principles and objectives of the QLD Disability Services Act 2006 and the Human Services Quality Standards
  • Detailed knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety legislation, systems, and processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills that demonstrate professional assertiveness in ensuring deadlines are met and outcomes achieved
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with staff
  • Empathetic and approachable
  • Exceptional multi-tasking, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, time management, organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and pleasant phone manner

Qualifications & Knowledge/Experience:

Essential:
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or willingness to complete at your own expense within the first 12 months of employment
  • Minimum Certificate IV Qualification in a Community Services industry qualification
Desirable but not essential:
  • Instructor in CPI
  • Instructor in TCI
  • Instructor for Mental Health First Aid
  • AIBA Training

A requirement prior to commencement, is eligibility to apply for or currently hold the below:
  • Suitability Blue Card for Working with Children and Young People
  • Positive Notice Criminal History Check - Yellow Card or NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Child Safety and Criminal History Screening - LCS2
  • Drivers Licence
