This exciting opportunity is available with Bluesummer Properties (BSP), based in Rockhampton, servicing Gladstone and Emerald.

BSP is a housing provider currently servicing Queensland with our head office based in Bundaberg. Bluesummer Properties provides housing options and fleet solutions for the disability and child protection community sectors catering to the individual needs of our clients.

The role of the Maintenance Officer involves all associated responsibilities for the maintenance of our large property portfolio within the Facilities & Assets department, ensuring maintenance requests are completed in a timely manner and to a high quality. This role will include some travel.


About the role

BSP are looking for an experienced Maintenance / Handyman to join our team on a full time basis. BSP pride ourselves on the condition of our properties – our clients homes, to ensure a safe and secure environment at all times. As a Maintenance Officer at BSP, you will support our residents and team through ensuring the safety and upkeep of the houses by providing on site maintenance, including:
  • General and equipment maintenance, painting and handy person duties
  • Coordination of the maintenance program, timely reporting and administration

You’ll bring to the role your ability to operate autonomously while effectively managing and prioritising your work. You will be committed to keeping the houses safe and comfortable for our residents and our team. You will also have:
  • Exceptional Maintenance/handy person skills
  • A relevant trade qualification (highly regarded, but not essential)
  • Proven painting experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and manage your time effectively
  • Work Health and Safety knowledge and a commitment to keeping yourself and others safe
  • Understanding of and experience in managing contractors on site
  • Compassion for our residents and respect for their environment
