Our partner Southern Cross Support Services (SCSS) is a highly sought-after organisation, committed to client goals and providing personal growth opportunities for our team members. SCSS is a NDIS and Child Safety provider servicing Queensland with our head office based in Bundaberg. Our core business is to provide a range of Disability and Children, Youth & Families services to meet the needs of those that are most vulnerable in our community.

SCSS will be supporting Indigenous young people within these programs and encourage Indigenous candidates to apply online or reach out to learn more about our organisation.

HOW WE SUPPORT OUR YOUNG PEOPLE:
  • Plan and attend activities or appointments with young people
  • Support and manage young people's behaviours
  • Use daily routines to provide hands on training of life skills such as cooking, personal care and budgeting
  • Work with young people to maintain hygiene and cleanliness of the house
  • Complete daily case notes, admin tasks and incident reports

WHAT IS SCSS LOOKING FOR?
  • People with genuine passion for helping others
  • Know how to provide a supportive and fun environment for our clients
  • Understanding of Child Safety Residential Care Work
  • Sound IT skills to complete daily case notes, admin tasks and incident reports in line with legislative requirements

Our programs operate 24/7 which includes shift work (sleepovers, weekends, and possibly awake shifts).

A requirement prior to commencement, is eligibility to apply for or currently hold:
  • Blue Card for Working with Children
  • Yellow Card or NDIS Worker Screening
  • Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check (LCS2)
  • Must have completed or be willing to obtain a Cert 4 or higher in a recognised qualification
  • Driver’s licence (P2 minimum)
  • Hope & Healing modules
  • NDIS Worker Orientation module
Please note: Following the public health direction in QLD regarding vaccination requirements for Healthcare workers, evidence of COVID19 vaccination will be required prior to an offer of employment.
