This challenging opportunity is available within the Human Resources team of Southern Cross Support Services (SCSS).

SCSS is a NDIS and Child Safety provider servicing Queensland with our head office based in Bundaberg. Our core business is to provide a range of disability and Child Protection services to meet the needs of those that are most vulnerable in our community. This exciting opportunity is available for Southern Cross Support Services (SCSS), in our Bundaberg Head Office.

WHAT IS SCSS LOOKING FOR?


Ideally someone that has experience working in a fast-paced Human Resources environment, with a very good knowledge of legislation applicable to HR and be experienced in managing underperformance and misconduct processes as well as other general HR processes. You must be motivated, able to work both in a team and on your own, be able to conduct research and have the ability to learn and apply new processes quickly with little fuss.

This is a highly diverse role that has a variety of responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Provide sound human resources advice, coaching and HR assistance to managers in a variety of HR matters
  • Administration and guidance regarding performance management processes
  • Assist with and conduct workplace investigations
  • Write HR documents including allegation letters, outcome letters, warning and termination letters
  • Ensure HR documents are processed in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Meticulous and detailed record keeping in HRIS, spreadsheets and other systems
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal HR systems and processes
  • Undertake HR project work
  • Conduct meetings and toolboxes as required

Other aspects of the role that are required by the successful person would include:

  • Have an understanding of legislation relevant to HR, e.g. FairWork Act, Work Health and Safety Act, Human Rights Act
  • Being people and outcome focused
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Extremely well organised, with exceptional communication and planning skills
  • Excellent computer and typing skills
  • Enjoys challenging environments and can meet tight deadlines

To be a success in this role, you will have:

  • The ability to be flexible, adaptable and diplomatic
  • Solid time management skills
  • Able to work in a team as well as on your own
  • Preference for a Diploma in Human Resources or similar
  • Must be able to use initiative and have a positive attitude
  • SCSS supports clients across Queensland and the ability to travel to regional office locations is essential
  • Must have a current Drivers Licence
