What you will be doing:
- Ensure that the emotional, social, behavioural, and educational needs of children and young people are met through the development, implementation, and review of individual plans
- Maintain an understanding of the principles of Child Protection and work collaboratively with other government and non-government agencies to ensure the protection of children and young people
- Create a team culture of support and respect
- Support residential care workers under your management in their roles by providing supervision, debriefing and regular contact
- Develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with government departments, stakeholders and the community
- Undertake necessary administrative reporting and tasks as required
- Attend and participate in regular supervision, team meetings, stakeholder meetings, and inter-agency meetings
- Complete direct care shifts as needed
- Participate in after hours on call duties
- Participate in the recruitment process for new residential care workers
- An understanding of complex care issues for children and young people
- An understanding of the impact of trauma on children and young people in care
- Demonstrated ability to manage conflicts and complaints
- Ability to work both independently but also within a collaborative team environment
- Strong management experience and a natural aptitude for leadership

- Hold or be enrolled in and working towards a relevant recognised qualification
- Blue Card for Working with Children and Young People
