This exciting opportunity is available for Southern Cross Support Services (SCSS), based in Bundaberg.

SCSS is a NDIS and Child Protection provider servicing Queensland with our head office based in Bundaberg. Our core business is to provide a range of disability and child protection services to meet the needs of those that are most vulnerable in our community.

The role of Finance Manager plays a significant part in the way that SCSS reaches its goals and client requirements. Reporting directly to the CFO, the role is a full-time position that will be part of our Senior Management Team.

What will you be doing?
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Finance team
  • Preparation and analysis of management, budgetary and expense reporting and variance analysis
  • Preparation of the regulatory obligations and reporting including GST, PAYG and Payroll Tax returns
  • Management of inventory and asset registers
  • Prepare month end activities including journals, reconciliations, provisions, accruals, fixed assets and depreciation
  • Prepare cash flow analysis and forecast
  • Continual system and process improvements
  • Preparation of accounts for the external company taxation accountant
  • Be pro-active in understanding key customer profitability, product margins, and high level of support to the operational team

What are we looking for?
  • Minimum of 5 years Accounting (preference will be given to applicants with Management Accounting experience)
  • Experience using MYOB / Microsoft office suite software.
  • Demonstrate high level organisational skills and attention to details.
  • Demonstration ability to maintain confidentiality both internal (other staff) and external to the organisation.
  • Able to lead a large team
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
